I found myself in an Etsy Finds Email yesterday, the theme Gifts for Men

This is truly exciting to me, firstly because recognition is awesome and secondly because now I reach a wider market as an artist. I am not just a trinket peddler any more :)

Thank you Etsy for noticing I make guyish things these days and thank you to everyone that added my work to their favorites yesterday, what a boost!

It's Miles' 8th Birthday today (Happy Birthday Gorgeous-bean!) and I've been swamped with planning, wrapping, shopping, inviting and of course, cake eating.

I am a bit bloggy-behind this week so as a diversion I am offering up my recent podcast with the AMAZING Sister Diane of Crafty Pod.

The Good, the Bad and the Abc?

Last week my pendants were featured on a cable news segment on Good Morning America Now. I am really thrilled for the exposure but was a little concerned when I realized she had mentioned they were all hand painted, instead of made with preprinted papers & photographs. At first I was pretty upset, the last thing I want is for people to be disappointed with their purchases but I realized that press is press and now I am just all giddy and grateful once again. So yay for me on ABC! (& thanks to Alyse Mandel for the great segment. You can view it in the side bar if you care to see.)

So Martha went for the jewelry...

My little flourish pendant was featured on her table along side Katherine Riechart and Luxe Delux . It was a brief stint of fame for my lovely green pendant but ooo so much fun to see. I am incredibly honored and really enjoyed the segment. I took a screen shot of the website with my link on it (below) and if I can get one of the video I will share.

Martha! Martha! Martha!

I'm going to tell you a little story about a stressed out crafter....

It was Friday and I was sitting on my mothers couch in the Bay Area when I opened up a conversation on Etsy from Daniellexo, from admin. She said Etsy was to be featured on the Martha Stewart Show and they were interested in a set of my accordion books in consideration for the episode. Oh holy goodness Yay, right?
It was total elation until I read they wanted the books Monday, three days from that very moment, where I was sitting, out of town, on my moms couch. The one and only best thing that could ever happen to a crafter and I was NOT home to send the items off. If there was ever a time to PANIC that was the very moment. I am, however, incredibly lucky because my good friend & shop assistant extraordinaire Lea kindly agreed (after a smidge of begging and pleading) to go to my home, pack up the items and ship them off, overnight express. I immediately called the producer (yeah, that's a number I'll be keeping) to let her know I was having items sent and that she could reach me by phone or telegram or flying mule if needed. After a few days of nail biting it was confirmed that the items arrived in perfect condition and just now confirmed that although they won't be mentioned by name they will be ON THE TABLE during the episode, on Martha Stewart's table, on her show, while she talks to Etsy president Rob Kalin, on the Martha Stewart show. Martha. Stewart.

Yay.
