I forgot completely and entirely that sitting outside in the rain all day is very very wet.
Yesterday's weather was unkind. I set my booth up in a mini-river and found out that my brand new CARAVAN <-- notice the name, canopy leaks at the seams. I also forgot that plastic boxes are better than cardboard boxes and that I don't look all that cute as a wet vendor. :)
I expected nothing from my day but to be outside, visiting old friends and to get a feel for my booth set up. I was surprised when I made my first $20 and kind of figured by the haggard looks on the faces of the shoppers that I was done. But I wasn't. Yesterday was not stellar but I managed to make my booth fees and have some pocket change to walk away with. Even wet, even cold and even almost shopper-less my sales exceeded my expectations.
And, I sold 7 pendants!!!
I am very very happy that my concerns and doubts around the pendants should be concentrated on better photos instead of dropping this line. It was fun to see people excited about them in person and it gives me hope that they can do well on Etsy someday too. I am relieved and reinvigorated all in one.
Sadly (dryly?) I am not headed back to the market today as Miles is sick but I look forward to next weekend when I'll be a little more organized and hopefully a lot less wet.
Have a lovely Sunday all!
